Construction Management Software Company Brings in Cash for Local Home Builders' Associations
August 15th 2007 - Orem, Utah

BuilderHelper.com announced Wednesday a program to help benefit Home Builders' Associations across the nation. The program is designed to provide a portion of the revenue generated from BuilderHelper's award-winning construction management software to the local HBA under which the software is purchased. BuilderHelper representative, Tim Metler, estimates that an average HBA can generate an additional $500 per month through implementation of the new program.

A subscription to BuilderHelper ranges from $50 per month to $500 per month depending on the application and type of user. HBA members receive a ten percent discount and the HBA receives a bonus based on the subscription amount.

The program is set to launch with over 100 Home Builders' Associations across the United States which service approximately 25,000 general contractors and trade contractors.

BuilderHelper provides cutting-edge construction management software to the home-building industry and includes modules for online bidding, on-screen, browser-based estimating, real-time project scheduling, and a full suite of web-based tools for managing home-owners.

BuilderHelper.com Overview:
During the next few editions of our HBA newsletter we will be highlighting a new software program designed for home builders and trade contractors. This software is called "BuilderHelper.com" and can eliminate a lot of the headaches many of our members experience on a daily basis.

First off, BuilderHelper is not the kind of software you install on your computer with a CD. It is known as "web-based" software which means that it runs through the internet like many popular email services. There are lots of benefits to using web-based software. For example, if your office or home computers crash, none of your information will be lost because it is safely stored in the BuilderHelper system. Another benefit of web-based software is that you can access it from any computer with the Internet. This means you could be at home, at the office, on the job-site with a PDA, or even in a hotel on vacation, and open up all the information you need to manage your business.

BuilderHelper addresses 4 main areas with its software, each of which we'll be highlighting in more detail in future issues of our newsletter.

The first is "Bidding and Estimating." In a nutshell, BuilderHelper lets you send electronic plans out to all your trade contractors for bidding. They can then open the plans on their computers and perform accurate on-screen take-offs. When they have compiled an estimate in the system, they can then send it back to you for your review.

The second module is a "Scheduling" module which lets you schedule unlimited projects and keeps your trade contractors up-to-date on where they're scheduled and when by sending out automatic emails and cell-phone text messages.

The third module is a "Customer Management" system that lets you create an online website for your customers where they can be kept informed on project information, make option selections, and submit change orders.

The last module is a "Punch List Management" program, that lets you assign punch list items to your trade contractors and easily keep track of what items are completed and which are outstanding. This program also uses the internet to send automatic emails and cell-phone text messages to you and your trade contractors whenever there are changes in assignment.

As you can tell, BuilderHelper has taken a very comprehensive approach to the Home Building process. That means that you can avoid the pains of double and triple data-entry between sets of different software because everything is in one place in the BuilderHelper system.

We highly reccomend you try out the BuilderHelper fee trial to see if it is a fit for your business. Through the HBA, you can receive a 20% discount on the service and a portion of your payment comes back to the HBA to help us continue providing all of our valuable services to you and the other home builders in the area.

Real-time Scheduling:
In our efforts to highlight useful technology for the builders in our association, we are featuring a product for your consideration: BuilderHelper.com.

In this edition of our newsletter we are taking a look at BuilderHelper's "Scheduling" module. First off, it's necessary to mention that everything about BuilderHelper is "web-based" which means that all of its functions can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection, just sit down, put in your password and you're managing everything about your projects.

BuilderHelper lets you schedule every task in your job schedules and assign the associated trade contractor. The really special thing, though, is that it sends out automatic emails and cell-phone text messages to your trade contractors when they're assigned to a job, as well as when their assignment changes, it even sends them a message to remind them when their tasks are getting close.

If there's one complaint we hear over and over here in the HBA office, it's that general contractors have to spend an inordinate amount of time on their phones scheduling their trade contractors. BuilderHelper has put together a really simple and easy-to-use way to significantly reduce the amount of time you'll need to spend on the phone scheduling by doing a lot of the work for you.

Thanks for reading, and remember that you can get a 10% discount on the BuilderHelper service through our HBA and a portion of your subscription amount gets donated back to us. BuilderHelper can be contacted at 801-227-7811, info@builderhelper.com, or www.builderhelper.com.

Electronic Plans and Bidding:
In our efforts to highlight useful technology for the builders in our association, we are featuring a product for your consideration: BuilderHelper.com.

Plan copies are something many builders spend money on every month without really considering if there's a better way of getting project information and plans out to their trade contractors. Through the Internet, BuilderHelper has developed a simple way to share plans with trade contractors.

All you have to do is get a .pdf from your architect, upload the file to your account on BuilderHelper, and then check off a list of the trade contractors you want to make the plan available to. BuilderHelper then automatically sends an email and a cell-phone text message to all the tradesmen you checked off inviting them to bid on the plan.

You may be saying "Yeah, I can already do that with email though." That's where BuilderHelper takes things to the next level; their system actually allows you and your trades to make accurate measurements on the plan right from the computer screen. That's right, there is no need to print the plan out, just click, click, click, click, and you know the square-footage of the main floor. It's something so slick, you really have to see it to believe it.

BuilderHelper then finishes off the process by allowing your tradesmen to put together their estimate and submit it back to you for your review. It's difficult to say exactly how much time you'll save by not having to coordinate the distribution of plans and collection of bids, but one thing's for sure, you'll save a ton on the cost of plan copies.

Thanks for reading, and remember that you can get a 10% discount on the BuilderHelper service through our HBA and a portion of your subscription amount gets donated back to us. BuilderHelper can be contacted at 801-227-7811, info@builderhelper.com, or www.builderhelper.com.

Customer Management:
In our efforts to highlight useful technology for the builders in our association, we are featuring a product for your consideration: BuilderHelper.com.

As most of you know, customer management can be a nightmare, and how you manage your customers can be the difference between a profitable project with future referrals, and and an un-profitable project with bitterness and possible lawsuits. BuilderHelper's "Customer Management Module" is designed to streamline many of the management hassles you're used to when dealing with customers, and keep an electronic "paper-trail" of all the communications you have with your customers for record-keeping and liability purposes.

Just log into your BuilderHelper account and create a password for your project's customer. This makes an account they can log into online to share project information. You can then choose what project information you want to share with them, whether it's a week's view of the project schedule, a contract using the "documents" section, or an electronic copy of the project plan. The neat thing is that you can choose exactly how much information you want to share so you don't shoot yourself in the foot by showing them too much.

BuilderHelper also provides a format where you can allow your customers to make option selections. Just create a list of their available options, set a deadline for their decision, and the customer can log in and choose from the provided choices. In essence, you can provide your customers with a "Virtual Design Center" where they can see colors of paint, tile variations, plumbing and lighting fixtures, etc. and make easy decisions just by logging in from their home computer.

Overall, BuilderHelper's customer management module is an easy way to cater to the increasing number of "tech-savvy" customers building homes these days that demand more involvement in the building process, while still providing you the control necessary to run the project how you see fit. It also provides customers an outlet for communication that isn't your cell-phone or office number allowing you to address their issues and concerns at your convenience. Finally, the record-keeping can be a life saver (and money saver) if disputes ever arise.

Thanks for reading, and remember that you can get a 10% discount on the BuilderHelper service through our HBA and a portion of your subscription amount gets donated back to us. BuilderHelper can be contacted at 801-227-7811, info@builderhelper.com, or www.builderhelper.com.
